Does Jesus need saving? A new book by Barry Wilson, How Jesus Became Christian, attempts to bring the reader back to Biblical times to show that Jesus was primarily a political and social figure, not necessarily a religious one. I am constantly amazed by scholars who claim that we, two thousand years after the event, can claim to have a better understanding of Biblical times than those who lived in them. Despite popular belief, the discoveries of the last century, most notably the Dead Sea Scrolls, have only served to reinforce the history and traditions of Christianity. Discussion questions.
